Live Here Report

About the project:  The Live Here Report goes beyond typical information in a real estate listing, giving users an enhanced sense of how it would feel to live in a particular place. Users are given a breadth of well-being and environmental insights at the single property level. Users can make better decisions about where to live and what actions they may wish to take to ensure it is best aligned with their existing resources, desired lifestyle, and potential environmental impact.

I was client #1: In the journey of purchasing my first home, I spent many hours researching some of these same indicators, as I weighed pros and cons of various compromises related to the houses I saw (“can I live with the house being within 200m of a busy arterial road?”)

A Walk Score ‘on steroids’: Hypothesis: if I was looking for these answers, others in my generation (Millennials) might be also. Aside from the ‘Walk Score’, which has a simplistic methodology behind it (despite it being a $10M+ company), there were no rivals.

Need to better translate science into plain language. From my time working in Healthy Living (PHAC), I knew there is more and more research available on the relationship between the environment and our health (e.g. proximity to bodies of water leads to less stress, better mental health). This research doesn’t usually make it past academia / experts.
